add a few points

1. If you don't super sharp eyes, do not buy 17" and 20" LCD. 17" native resolution is 1280x1024 20" is 1600x1200. too small for most people. and as said, unlike CRT, for LCD you can use only one resolution - the native resolution

2. DVI and analog does not make much difference. 99% people cannot tell - based on my own experience, unless the place has a lot of EMI (electromagnetic interference).

3. IF you care about the image quality, do not use KVM swith. KVM makes quality bad and most people can discern the deterioration.

4. do not compare the image quality in store display. the stores use multi KVM so the image quality is so poor for every monitor it does not make sense to compare them. instead read reviews by users. generally you can not be too wrong if you buy a Samsung - it is the top manuafacturer of LCD, overall better reputation then sony.
