If the floppy disk has bad sectors, try the following:

1. Put the floppy disk into the floppy drive
2. Double-click "My computer" on the desktop
3. Right-click on "Floppy Drive (a:)"
4. Choose "Properties" from the quick menu
5. Click on "Tools" tab
6. Check errors, and make sure you check the two option boxes.
7. After the system checks the floppy and recover data from bad sectors, you may be able to open the files in it.
