Ikanos Communications, developer of Smart Silicon for Profitable Broadband(TM), today announced that it will publicly demonstrate its Fx(TM) family of programmable chipsets, which deliver 100 Mbps Fiber to the Home/Premise (FTTH/FTTP) extension over copper, at the FastNet Futures show next week at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif. The demonstrations will take place at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, March 29 and 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30.

Ikanos will demonstrate an Fx-based Optical Network Unit (ONU) transmitting 100 Mbps over ordinary single-line copper to Ikanos Fx Subscriber Located Equipment (SLE). Ikanos programmable chipsets use high-performance Discrete Multi-Tone (DMT) modulation line code technology. Ikanos' Fx family of chipsets for FTTP/FTTH markets deliver Ethernet- or ATM-based services and provides on-chip Quality of Service (QoS) for a new standard of excellence in powering premium, quality video services. When used with Fx SLE, Ikanos solutions provide end-to-end programmability, including support for plug-and-play end-user installation.
