請問一下Verizon FIOS 電視盒子問題。真不想每月租那破盒子

有那盒子以後，非常清楚'full HD。如果不用那盒子，直接接電視的話。畫麵不清楚。
都是數字信號啊。咋那麽大區別呢？ Google 了一下，說是啥QAM tuner.
我這是個很老的sharp LCD.（LC 52E77U) 查了一下，也帶那個tuner 。 
還有那個電視卡是咋回事？ 我那電視機好像沒那插槽。
