Questions about a new Dell laptop

Just bought a Dell - Inspiron 15.6" Laptop and installed Microsoft Office in the University. But our technicians do not deal with Window 8 issues because we do not use Widow 8 now. I got some problems, I call Microsoft Tech Support 1-(877)953-5127. They connected to my computer and saw my problems. Finally told me that I have three problems:



(1) Security patches have not been enabled;


(2) Service system has not been configured; 


(3) Divers have not been updated.


That's the reason, why I encountered the problem as I have now.  They can help me fix the problems for $149.99. I refused. 


I have no idea how to solve these problems. Can you help?


(1)How to enable security patches?


(2)How to configure service system?


(3)How to update dirvers?
