I always hear that Segate HD is not very reliable.  Now I believe it. I bought a 2GB Seagate 3 years ago and bought another 2GB this summer for $60.  As soon as I got the new one the 3-year-old died.  Lukyly I have already copied the contents from the old to new one. Also the power convertor came with new one did not work well and I have to use the old one.
