Found a solution and now much better

My machine has the E350, 4 GB RAM, and the standard wireless adapter. Win 7 64 bit Home Professional.

 

The internet was dreadfully slow. The problem was in the power management settings, where the wireless adapter was set to low power mode, even when the machine was plugged in. I changed the setting and my browser became instantly responsive.

 

Instructions:

 

1. Go to Control Panel > Power Options
2. Click Change plan settings next to your current power plan
3. Click Change advanced power settings
4. Double-click Wireless Adapter Settings
5. Double-click Power Saving Mode

6. Change the setting to Maximum Performance
