want to have my own website

I want to host my own website at my own computer( i am at USA),so there is no storage limit.
I have a p4 desktop and a cable internet.
What else do I need? Where can I get my domaine name
(like www.liuinc.com) and how much? Do i have to go
through a broker? If I also want to have my own email
address(like [e-mail]), what software or hardware do i need?

Any suggestions are welcome.
