當然不一樣.
w/o the router, the traffic between the pc and the modem runs at datalink layer. w/ the router, it runs up to application layer and is whole lot slower.

but generally the router's processing ability is not the bottle neck since most dsl is slower. yours (>350kbyte/secc) is really fast and the router becomes the bottleneck.

I guess both your connection speed and the router's processing limit are about the same now so your speed test showed about the same but in video stream you can feel the difference.

solution:
1. get 2 ip addresses from your isp, replace the router with a 100base switch.

or

2. buy a business class router (expect to shed $1000)
