iwork or microsoft office for Macbook Pro 13

I can get an Macbook pro 13' for $1190.74 with tax ($1099 plus tax) in education store, and also can get $100 gift card from back to school promotion. However, I can only use this in their applestore online.

I can use $100 promotion to buy iwork instead of microsoft office. The problem is that I am very familier with microsoft office. I like office word, excel and powerpoint. 

Anybody use iwork before?

Is there any good deal for buying Macbook pro?
