Use cell phone Gps without data plan

May I ask if my cell phone can be used for GPS without subscrbing data plan?

I currently use  LG Rumor Touch with Sprint, it has build-in GPS,but I don't have data plan. I will go to Beijing next month, it will be great if my cell can be used as GPS in China. Thanks!
