I have a vtech cordless phone, the battery is dying. The original battery is Nicd, 3.6v 700mah.
I bought from ebay a replacement battery: NIMH, 3.6v, 1400mah, as soon as I put into this new battery, I smell the odor of burning, I later tested the battery, here is the result:
Original battery: 3.57v, 9.5ma (not clear of the unit, it is the reading from battery testing part of my digital multimeter)
replacement battery: 3.8v, 10.5ma
Please, experienced high hands here, what is wrong? Is that NIMH battery and NiCd battery not interchangeable? or just the slight difference on DC voltage? or what else? Thank you!
