for many DIY is for most high end CPU VIDEO etc. Then i7 is quite correct. for us, it is for the lowest overall cost to run a HTPC. I need the smallest formfactor that runs full CPU instead of atom.
This year miniITX based boards are plenty, and cheap! Just got one to replace my dead HP slimline that was killed by nVedia video chip. $24 Zotac. VGA tough but same as DVI anyway. Optical out as well.
