problem of WD 120 elements with G4 iMAC

I just bought a 120G WD elements portable. My home PC (win7), lab new intel iMAC (10.6) all can read and write normally, but my old G4 iMAC (10.4) can not even detect it. I used intel iMAC format it to FAT32. Any solution to this? Thanks
