Just bought an used PII loaded with win2000, worked OK when I bought it. But after carrying it home in my car, got problem in start:
the first start: everything is OK until it shows "Windows 2000 professional starting up", then it shows "preparing network connection", then it just stopped there. After about 3 minutes, it's still "preparing for network connection", so I restarted the PC.
The second time: After showing "Windows 2000 professional starting up", it showed an blue screen which reads " Stop, Inaccessible_boot_device. Check for virus on your computer, Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers, Check your hard drive to make sure it's properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, then restart."
I don't have anti-virus software. Can someone tell me what I can do or how to run the CHKDSK /F command?
Thanks so much for any help!
Sincerely,
Ying
