many many years ago, an entry level film SLR will install a shutter with life span over 150K. 10K life is never a real thing.
Of course it is quite possible DSLR reduce the good part of the alreay mature parts for low cost.
I hate low cost driving economy.
I used to trust the manufacture instead of the seller when I got my film body from eBay. Never tried before purchase. What you are doing seems OK.
Also, don't anticipate too much from a DSLR, if it can take pictures, good.
It is OK to do that. The life span of shutter is not that low
