Mine USB dongle works from time to time, but not work from time to time. That is the major differentiators between different brand. The $7 Linksys should work better.

The main cause of the not working usually lies in the driver not properly installed. Sometimes the firewall or Anti-virus also contributes.

It is truly annoying at the start, but once you got once or twice working, it tends to work from there on without flaw.

Even my lenovo laptop has such issue at start. After a week or so trying everything, it is fine! My take is that something beyond technique exist in this world.

The "everything" includes: bypass DHCP by assigning IP address directly; remove complete the driver and re-install latest version; restart computer 3 times ... After it is working, you can recover DHCP etc. :)
