UPDATE ON NEW VERIZON PREPAID DEVICES: As of 1/25/2010 a new rule has been put into effect, regarding the activation of NEW Verizon InPulse Retail Handsets that you activate on PagePlus.
1.) Dealers can no longer activate any NEW InPulse devices directly out-of-the-box.
2.) Dealers are being STRICT about this rule as they can get reprimanded for activating NEW Inpulse devices on Page Plus.
3.) Some dealers (e.g. urlha*****eenblocked) are actively checking each and every ESN submitted through them with Veirzon directly to assure that you are not trying to circumvent this rule.
4.) Verizon is putting a HARD HOLD on ALL NEW InPulse devices you attempt to "port in" to Page Plus. This means any number you port to a new Verizon InPulse handset WILL STAY with the InPulse service IF you attempt to bring the phone over to another carrier as well (as in this case, Page Plus). Note: You must move the number to another non-new/used Verizon InPulse device or Postpaid handset to be able to release your number from Verizon.
5.) Long story, short: Dealers will not and cannot activate new InPulse devices on Page Plus that are not activated on Verizon FIRST or that ARE activated on Verizon first, but have not been on Verizon for the required 6 months. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY YOU MAY LOSE YOUR NUMBER IF YOU ATTEMPT TO DO SO.
