OK, get a IDE/SATA to USB adaptor (for $10 on e-bay), try it and hear noise. If there is no spinning noise do the followings:
1, put into refrigerator overnight with good seal. Try when it is cold.
2, put near the PC power supply or something warm and heat it to 50 degrees. Try it hot.
3, if none works, just try plug in over and over for 20 times to see if any click is heard.
Once you can see the drive, copy the most important stuff out as fast as you can ... sometimes you will need to run CMD with super user to be able to copy over stuff.
Your chance is slim, and pure luck
