after many frustration with Windows, I moved to Ubuntu

Had same issue last 10 years, installed many many times. Finally moved to ubuntu completely since last year and never had such issue.
make an account just for web browsing, in case something wrong, I discard the user and and a new user.
it does take time to have sound/movie/firefox plug in installed properly, but once you get it working, it simply works for ever.
