Can REDHAT 5 be updated to 5.3

Hi,

I have a redhat 5.0 machine and want to update it to 5.3. I have the set of 5.3 installable CDs. But when I boot from the CD, it tries to do a new install instead of an update. It was about to remove my existing partitions. I wonder if an update can be done. Am I missing anything?
