1) backup and restore (accessory,system tools, backup and restore)
2) backup and system recovery (procedures-pls follow the laptop user manual)

MS put DOS to sleep after WinMe. All the steps like create partitions, format disk, copy system files are all automated from the boot CD, recovery cd, or one key recovery. Just follow the instructions and you will be fine.
