how to display command in Chinese Software?

I use win2000 professional edition at home. Whenever I want to install Chinese software, I will see strange characters which I can't recognize, I guess they are the "continue", "cancel" etc in Chinese, but I can never read them, therefore, never went through any installation.

Do you know how do I make the Chinese Software work on my PC? I can read Chinese and post message in Chinese fine.
