alright, what is the quality of the few channels? IF they are quite poor, it is likely your cable is acting as antenna for free air TV program. There are many channels overlapped between FATV and Cable.

Anyway, how can you be so sure your cable company didn't pull their plug? Call them for a free check up, if you are paying them! Asking here will not help as much.
