me by no means know much about pc. however, the following steps worked for me. you may want to give it a try too.

Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options –> Languages:
1) Install files for East Asian Languages
2) Text services and input lanuages –> Details –> Advanced –> click on Compatibility Configuration “Extend support of advanced text services to all programs
Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options ->
Advanced –> change the Language for non-Unicode programs to Chinese (PRC)
