關於cable modem的疑問。。。

請教內行是否有此說法，想了解的詳細些。

我上周六安裝的cable modem, 按完後速度非常慢，比dialup 56k還慢好多。今天technician來了，檢查後說，cable信號太強了。現在是17，應該range不超過5。後來給調成7左右，現在速度還好，說再往下調，要到大樓的配電室裏去調。
