pocket pc is better or plam is better.

I want to spend $200-300 to buy a potable device. I am wonding pocket pc is better or plam is better. the main purpose is for reading some news, and email. as tools and entertainment, it can be use as dictionary and music play. And where i can get better deal. Any suggestion will be appreciated.
