問一個關於linux /boot and LVM的問題。thanks.

my laptop currently has windowsXp and FC5. I intend to replace FC5 with Suse10. Since my expriece with FC5 was quite unpleasant, I doubt that something went wrong at the installation phase, and i am confused by the partition options.

from the df command:
$df
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-logvol100 /
/dev/sda2 /boot
tmpfs /dev/shm
/dev/mapper/VolGroup01-logvol100 /home
This reminds me that how i partitioned the disk when i install FC5. I manually made the root partition primary; and created two LVM group to enclose /root and /home (i am not sure where I put /swap). As for SUSe10, I would like to as well have 4 partitions: /root, /home, /swap, /boot. Can linux gurus offer some advises?
In particular,is it mandatory to make /boot as 'primary', can it be enclosed in a logical partition? For the 3 partitions left, what partition scheme is more appropriate(is LVM neccessary)? THANKS A LOT.
