But I really didn't mean specifically getting things from Youtube. I wanted to know the mechanism of playing online media files like mp3s, rms, and videos.

I remember I used to play flash swf files and mp3s online, and the files are stored in the hard drive where I can retrieve from.

I thought it's the same for videos. So videos are not stored after played?
