Help..file access on NTFS

I got a lot of files on an old Hard Dive (NTFS format) that is used in an 900 mhz Emachine. For some reason, I can not start the machine to window xp. It always stuck at the flopy boost stage. So, to recover the files from the HD, I connected the HD to a new Win XP machine as a slave drive. I can access the directory of the HD and other account/user's files. But I can not access the files/folders of mine (mine was an admin account with password when I established the account). Anyone please help me how to get to my files so I can copy them and reinstall the Window XP (I suspect is crupted) on the HD. Thank you very much!
