My case, We have dell computer with pre-installed XP Pro, and need to re-install win2k server.
AT first, I put installation CD, deleted C partition of XP, then installed win2k, after installed, the system cannot be booted. So have checked again and found there is another parition there. That partition cannot be deleted under window system, but can be deleted using the installation CD.
Next run: deleted all paritions and re-create the parition with size needed. and successfully installed.
The better way, put a new harddisk and to install and you still can keep the original XP. On the BIOS setting, you can easily change the order to boot the system you want.
Plus used hard disk is not reliable as a new one.
