Before you type in the Chinese character

make sure you change the language to Chinese in your browser. In IE, it's View -> Encoding -> Chinese Simplified(GB2312). In Mozilla (I don't have Netscape, but it should be similar), it's View -> Character Encoding -> Chinese Simplified(GB2312).
