please help: computer security

I have a hard disk connected to my computer via UBS. I found in the morning that the hard disk is umounted (in Linux system)and my computer was logged out. I suspect that someone in my office might have disconnected the UBS and connected to her computer so that she can steal data from the hard drive.
Is there anyone who can provide some technique to check if someone steal the data on the hard disk?
