There are two kinds of refurbished laptops. Some are returns within a very short period of time (15 days or a months) and the technicians checked them and re-installed them. Some are just second hand laptops used for a long time. Repair shops and some other shops use the same term to sell them. In the case of the former, a laptop is almost brand new. I don't think the latter is a good choice.
