Granted the purpose of life means different things to different people. The old Chinese saying "民以食為天" clearly work great for the people in China.

For the rest, my take is find something you enjoying doing and run with it. We all have one life time, what we can and should do it make the best use of it. How to find thing that click with you? That is a question haunted mankind since the down of civilization. If all things failed, read The Bible then.
