Don’t let anyone affect your decisions. You are a grownup with a child, you know what you like and want in your life, so go for it.  Having Chinese parents sometimes can be heavy in our lives because of those traditions,  and it’s up to you whether you want to further it to your child or, if you want to give your child a brand new type of life… I can feel your frustration,  but be strong and do whatever you think will benefit yourself and your child first (don’t worry what they say about you). If you live happily, they will all shut up.
