Patrick Soon-Shiong (黃馨祥) 1952年在南非出生. 23歲獲得南非醫學學位.
他先在 the University of British Columbia 獲得Master of Science 學位.　然後在 University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) 完成外科訓練。從1983年到1991年, 任教於UCLA Medical School.
1991 年創建醫藥公司Abraxis BioScience. 2010年以 $3 billion 出售.
1997年創建醫藥公司American Pharmaceutical Partners. 2008年以$5.6 billion出售　
2009年返回UCLA任教.　
2011年Forbes 估算他的財富為$7.2 billion.
獲得 Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Canada), Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Distinguished Medical Science Award of the National Library of Medicine.
