When your voice or action became too offensive to a group of people, it may not be your sponsor/employer‘s best interest to keep you. This also happened to Juan Williams at PBS after “fear of flying in muslim and arab garb” (he is making much more at FOX now) and even Rush Limbaugh after his “slut” comments to a Georgetown female law student.
