和當年的日本有什麽區別嗎? Japan invaded China and South Eastern Asian countries to secure natural resources they needed and dreamed of being a dominating regional power, but they failed for various reasons. They lost the war but they never objected their dream.
Today, to secure natural resources that China needs to effectively raise its citizen's living standards, China is fighting with many South Eastern Asian small countries to secure a fair control on the strait of Malacca thus gain access to the Indian Ocean which will be a predominantly important channel to transport the resources China will acquire overseas.
Western studies don't object China's desire for power. On the contrary, most researchers think China's desire is legitimate. I am just questioning how China would grow its navy without disturbing the peace of the mind of its neighbors?
