individualism and respect each other's choice, including parents vs. children.  Most Americans work hard (harder than Europeans), along w/ the good political and economic system, to make the country great (dominate the world for over 50 yrs.).  Sure, US economy is going thru tough times, as Europeans (and China in the near future), but it will rebound.  US will not dominate the world as it did in the past, not so much because of the US' decline, but the other countries (BRIC and others) ascent.  And that is a good thing!
