There is a fundamental difference between social security and SSI.  Sociail securty is what you paid in, SSI is on need base. Social security has nothing to do with your other income.  You get paid based on the amount of tax you paid, although it does not go up much after certain point.  Even Warren Buffet receives social secuirty checks, but he said he does not cash them.  SSI is for people who never paid or paid very little tax.  It is fair not to give to people who has money, indeed, it is a crime to lie about you asset and income while applying. 作者is full of nonesense, and should shut up.
