I aways fill it all the way up

but it loses some when you mount it on the engin particullay if it faces down. The reason I prefill it up is to reduce dry run when start the engine the frst time after oil change. Not untill the oil filter full of oil does the engine pump the oil non stop circulated, so before that it runs without lubrication: dry run.
