the oil life sensor is not smart enough to know what kind of oil you poured in. 15000 miles on conventional oil is way overdue. on my car, i change oil at 30-40% left (about 5k miles) when i have dino oil in it; or at 10-20% left for synthetic. some people may say i am throwing away good oil, i feel worth it as this way i sleep better :)
the same logic goes to transmission fluid. i don't change filter but change fluid every year. filter is changed out on 3rd year. (note, when you go to a transmission shop to change fluid, they just remove the pan and dump what's in it, which only gets about half of fluid changed. the same if we do it, each time only about half out and half in).
by the way, i am using a fluid extractor making changing oil/fluid in a blitz, even without hands dirty.
