It should compare if he drove Nissan Versa vs Leaf. Plus the price difference between the two. $29010-$14180=$14830. That is about 4237 Gal of gas ($3.5/gal). That means driving 150413 miles for free (35.5mpg Versa) for 1418 days or 5.6 year commute to work (250 working days/year). Further more, he will spend $2016 on electrical charge fee in 5.7 year. That is enough for versa to run 20448 miles or another 192 working day commute. So, how much can he save? Besides, there would be no worry for finding charging station and long charging hours if drove Versa.
This is not a fair comparison. What if he were driving a F150?
