i had a large vehicle rarely driven. in two years i only drove about 5000 miles while supposed oil change interval was 15000 miles. after one year, i sent an oil sample to blackstone for an analysis; it showed all chemical characteristics to be in perfect condition. another year later i did the lab again and the oil was still good. i changed it anyway. 2 years may sound a little overstretch but in reality it's fine.
from another angle to see this issue, oil is cheap, no reason to rish anything. what you could do - first year change oil only; at the 2nd year end, change oil and filter.
one year is more than good
