be careful, many people found being trapped

remind you "salvaged" is different than "rebuilt" (or "reconstructed").  former is NOT registered for road driving while latter is reconstructed from a salvaged title, passed inspections and registered to dmv for leagal driving on the road.

regardless it is a major or minor accident, a vehicle is deemed "salvage" when the insurer determines that the repair or replacement cost is in excess of approximately 75% of its market value at the time of the accident or theft.  when you buy a salvaged, you will need to repair and go through inspections before you can register it to dmv.  of course you know if a vehicle is not registered you are illeagal to drive it on a public road.  remind you - some fixes can be very costly, e.g. airbags.  in most cases, the sellers/restorers do bodywork, making it look good, but leaving internal/costly jobs untouched, such as airbags.  it is more than often those sellers sell their cars at corner lots when you request to view it.  once they get the money they will walk away and you will never find them again (on the title the owner may not be the same as the seller).

bottom line - be careful with it.  if you are not good at auto repairs, or not an adventurous person, a salvaged car may not be your tea.
