I beleive it is tranny.

If it is engine it will show sign at any shifting point.

There are many control valves inside the tranny, controls various shifting points, there are o-rings in the valves that could deterate, once it is broken and the fluid start to leak, that valve will not do the shifting job any more, that is why you get shifting problem at specific shifting point. I have changed several such o-rings.
