Just replaced 4 new tires for my 3-year-old Toyota Sienna, but the shop (Discount Tire) does not do alignment, so I found a shop (Tire Barn) for free alignment check.
I was told that I need to buy 2 shims (left rear and right rear), $55 each for part + label, plus alignment as $60, so the total estimate is around $190...
I have planned a 6-hour-drive trip this weekend, so should I cancel the trip in case the bad alignment will damage the new tires of my car? The shop told me better to do the alignment first before the trip.
From the alignment check result, it looks like right front (Caster 2.8, Toe 0.12)and Right Rear (-2.0 Camber, 0.02 Toe) are in the red mark that need to be resolved with Shim.
Can someone let me know if the estimate reasonable? and should I cancel the trip tomorrow and do the alignment instead?
Is there a better place to do car alignment?
