We own a lexus GX470, a BMW 528xi and an Acura RL. Both the Lexus and BMW were bought new and the RL was bought used with 62K miles. Based on personal experience, you cannot do wrong with any one of them except that the BMW makes me feel a little more snobish on the road. My favorite car however is the Acura RL. It is understated but very refined and has more than enough power when you need it, e.g when you need to race a BMW as the light turns green (you must figure out how to use the manual shifters on the side of the steering wheel). Of course, one of the perks of drving these cars is that the dealers give you a loaner when the cars are in the shop so I have driven quite a few BMW 3&5s, Lexus ES/RX and Acura TL etc. I also owned a Honda Accord, a Toyota Sienna, a VW Jetta and a Mazda 626 in the past. I can tell you that the Acura and the Lexus are much more than the Honda and Toyota.
