I don't know what kind of key you have. Anyway, when you bought the car the dealer should have given you a key code. Check your packet see if it is there. A small piece of aluminum or tag with a number on it. If you lost it, you still need go to where you bought the car seeking for help. Or you can just call Toyota USA with your VIN# and related documents to verify you are the owner and ask for that key code and a certified key maker in your area. Any brand of cars they all have a certified key maker list. The dealer or Toyota USA will direct you to the right place for a copy. When you got your key code, save it in the packet for future troubles. Hope that helps.
